George Wood

NEWSY NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES.

HEBRON, Ind., July 1. -- While George Wood and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Wood, were returning from Valparaiso, last Saturday, they were struck by a wild engine, which was running backward, on the Ft. Wayne railroad, demolishing the buggy, killing young Wood and seriously injuring Mrs. Wood. They were taken to the Conn house and cared for. The young man's funeral took place last Monday at Salem, four miles north of this place. His mother is a widow and he was her only support. Mrs. Wood is doing well at last report.
