Resolution of Condolence.
At a regular meeting of Chequeuk Lodge No. 56 I.O.O.F., held at their Lodge Room in Valparaiso, on Saturday evening Aug. 13, 1853, the following preamble and resolutions were offered, and unanimously adopted by the Lodge:

Whereas in the course of Divine Providence our worthy brother, Joseph M. Whitmore, has recently been bereft of his bosom companion, who died this afternoon at her residence in this town after a protracted and painful illness; therefore,

Resolved, that we hereby tender to Brother Whitemore our heart-felt sympathy in this sad bereavement.

Resolved, that a copy hereof be presented to Brother Whitemore, and that a copy also be furnished the Observer for publication.
