Resolutions of Condolence.
The following resolutions of respect were passed by Porter Lodge, A. F. and A. M., No. 137, at their meeting on Saturday evening, October 27th, 1883:
WHEREAS, It pleased an all wise God on October 26th, 1883, to remove from our lodge, from our midst and association, our well-beloved and very much respected brother, Hiram Wasser, by death, and called him from this earthly and temporary lodge to that great, grand lodge on high, where the charter is perpetual and lodge associations never end, where there are no tears, no mourning, and all is harmony, sunshine and joy forever.
WHEREAS, His unfeighed piety to his God, and duty to his trust, which were so well manifested during his long and protracted illness, which he bore with real Christian fortitude and a faithful reliance on Divine Providence, gave evidence of his true worth as a Mason and a citizen, therefore be it said
Resolved, By Porter Lodge, No. 137, A. F. and A. M., that while we bow in humble submission to the will of the Most High, we do not the less mourn for the brother who has been taken from us.
Resolved, That in the death of Brother Wasser the lodge laments the loss of a true and worthy member, and his many friends and companions a most affectionate, social and generous friend and husband.
Resolved, That the heartfelt sympathies of this lodge be extended to the family and friends of our departed brother in this their sad affliction.
Resolved, That these resolutions be spread upon the records of this Lodge, and a copy thereof be transmitted to the family of our deceased brother.
