Yesterday morning No. 6 passenger train going west on the Grand Trunk, which leaves this place at 5:53 a. m. jumped the track at Elsdom, 8 1/2 miles this side of Chicago and was wrecked. The head brakeman was killed, the conductor had a leg broken, and the fireman and engineer sustained severe injuries. Three baggage cars were badly wrecked, but strange at it may seem, none of the passengers were hurt. Owing to the extreme reticence of the railway employes, but very little information could be obtained, and the names of the injured men not learned.
