Coroner's Inquest Report.
The State of Indiana, Porter County.
Be it remembered that on the 22d day of April, 1875, information was given to me that the dead body of a person supposed to have to his death by casualty had been found in Boon Township of said county, and I thereupon caused a jury to be summoned, sworn and charged to ascertain so far as possible the cause and circumstances of the death of said decedent. Witnesses were accordingly called and sworn, and evidence reduced to writing, sign by both said jury and myself, whereon said jury made their verdict that deceased came to his death by being run over by the cars on the P., C. & St. L. R. R., at the town of Hebron, in Porter County, Indiana. Said jury and myself made also this report "that the true name of said person is unknown; that at the time of his death he was about 30 years of age, of light complexion, and somewhat sandy colored beard, heavy made, about five and one-half feet high, dressed in dark coat, pants and vest, check wool shirt and snuff-colored cap; and that no valuables were found on his person, nor anything to indicate his name, residence or destiny, but that his features indicated Irish birth, and on the underside of his right arm, half way between his wrist and elbow was a mole one and one-fourth inches long by one-half inch wide covered with long hair.
