TALK OF THE TOWN
The body of an unknown woman was found on the beach of Lake Michigan at a point three miles east of the fishing shanties directly north of Chesterton, Thursday morning by John Littlejohn, a farmer living in that vicinity, who was on his way to Michigan City. He came to Chesterton and reported his discovery, and Coroner Coates was at once notified. Undertaker Lundberg went out after the body Thursday afternoon. The woman when found was almost naked, having no clothes on except a pair a shoes, stockings and some shreds of an undershirt. The hair had all fallen from the head, and the body gave evidence of having been in the water for some time. The woman was under thirty years of age, but there is no clue as to how she came to her death, her station in life, or where she belongs. The Coroner will view the body to-day.
