George Tollerton

TOWN AND COUNTRY.
George Tollerton, of Westville, took an ounce of Paris Green on day last week, and shuffled off this mortal coil. Tollerton was a peculiar fellow. He once tried to hang himself from a bed post, while his wife was lying sick in the bed. He got the rope around his neck, and was about strangled when help came. Once he got a divorce from his wife, and afterwards agreed to re-marry her if she would give him $50. She assented, and the couple went to Michigan City to have the knot tied. When the Justice was about to begin the ceremony, Tollerton turned to the woman, and said: "Give me the money of it's no go." She paid him then and there.
