Elizabeth Tilden

Obituary.
Elizabeth Tilden, wife of Dr. Tilden, was born April 22, 1814, near Toronto, Canada, died March 26, 1885, near old Morgan Station, Laporte county, Ind., so had she lived till April 22d, 1885 she would have 71 years old. She had been a member of the M. E. church over 40 years. When her pastor years ago her life made the impression on my mind that she was always present at Divine worship when able, and was a devout and spiritual worshiper. She lately said to a friend "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of rightousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me in that day," which theme was used at her funeral, after which with loving hands and tender hearts her body was laid away March 28, 1885, to await the resurrection of the just.
