Maud Swartz

DIED.
SWARTZ. -- In Chesterton Jan. 24th, 1878, of scarlet fever, Maud, only child of Frank and Dora Swartz, aged four years.

Gone in her guileless innocence, ere taint of sin had sullied the purity of heart or life. Desolate indeed, will be the home that owed its chief attraction to her bright presence; empty and desolate, the hearts and lives of those, whose sum of earthly happiness was so largely made up, of loving care, and tender watching of the sweet baby girl. May the great physician visit with healing and comfort the torn and anguished hearts now mourning so hopelessly -- and lift the weeping eyes from the little grave below to the beautiful gate above, where their angel baby is watching and waiting to welcome them home.
