Nancy E. Stephens

Burdick.
Mrs. Nancy E. Stephens, widow of the late Ethan Stephens, died at the family home, one and one-half miles west of Otis, on the county line road.

She was born in Dayton, Ohio, April 11, 1830, and passed into the unknown May 31, 1894, to join her husband who preceded her about five months. Of sterling qualities and a loving disposition, the departed was beloved by all who knew her and the relentless hand of fate has left a vacancy not soon to be replaced among those left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother and sister. Feeling secure in the teachings of her Creator, she dreaded not the last moments of her earthly career, had duly and with assurance of a better life made known her last wishes, asking that she be placed in her final resting place not by the hand of strangers, but by those who loved best, six brothers who are left to meet again in the long eternity.
