LOCAL.
Our friend Hassey Smith and his estimable wife, mourn the loss of their little baby boy. Mrs. Smith, was visiting with her parents at Laporte when the child was attached with cholera infantum. She telegraphed for her husband but he only reached the place shortly before the baby died. Misses Jessie and Lou. Smith returned from their visit to attend the funeral which took place here, and Mrs. Flora Philley also came from her home in Wayne. Rev. T. Meredith conducted the serive which took place from the house Tuesday afternoon. In their deep affliction the bereaved parents have the heartfelt sympathy of our entire community.
