Truman Smith

WOODVILLE RACKET.
Another of Porter County's old residents has gone from his labor to his reward, Truman Smith, of Jackson Township died on the 3rd inst. Mr. Smith was over eighty years of age had been a resident of Jackson many years and was universaly respected. His death was very sudden and painless. Attending to his domestic duties he came in the door and told his wife he hardly felt able to get a chair, which was the last words he ever spoke. Mrs. Smith assisted him to the lounge, and in two minutes he was dead no one being present but his wife. He leaves a wife one child and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. His funeral occurred on the 5th and was largely attended. His remains were taken to Laporte county for interredment.
