Rebecca Jane Smith

SATURDAY.
DIED, at her residence on East Main street, Valparaiso, on the 14th inst., Rebecca Jane Smith. Deceased was born in Cass co., Michigan, April 30, 1838, was married to William B. Smith, December 30, 1860, united with the Christian church on Morgan Prairie in 1857. She was a faithful wife and a kind and sympathetic neighbor, and was greatly loved by all who were intimate with her. She was conscious of death's approach, and told her friends that she was ready to go. She leaves a mother, three sisters, two brothers, and a husband to mourn their loss. The funeral service took place at the family residence on the 16th inst., in the presence of a large company of sympathizing friends and neighbors, being conducted by E. S. Riley, pastor of the Baptist church.
