Bessie Smith
Died.
In Waukegan, Illinois, at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Brown, on the 24th inst., occurred the death of little Bessie Smith, daughter of Jas. G. Smith, of our city. Bessie left Valparaiso a few weeks ago in perfect health, with her mother, to visit her grandmother. She was soon after stricken with a disease of the brain. She suffered two weeks with the disease when death came to her release. Her remains, accompanied by the grief-stricken parents and friends, were brought home Monday night, and the funeral services were held at the family residence on Tuesday morning, Rev. G. M. Boyd officiating.
