Wm. Sloan, from Kansas a few weeks since, died last Monday from alcoholism -- a warning to many others. He bought five acres of land near town, and then got to drinking and had the tremors, when Dr. Miller treated him and seemed almost hopeless, lasting several days; but he went to drinking again when out of sight, and the doctor told him he was discouraged and could do no more.
