A. D. Sefton

Resolutions of Respect.
ADOPTED BY THE CRESCENT SOCIETY COMMITTEE.

We, having been informed of the death of our esteemed brother A. D. Sefton, and having been appointed a committee to draft suitable resolutions, commemorative of our great loss and the high esteem in which we held him as a young man, now offer the following preamble and resolutions:

WHEREAS, It has pleased the Almighty Ruler of the Universe, to remove from our midst A. D. Sefton, who was for so long a time identified with us in literary work, and

WHEREAS, It is proper that we should express in some suitable manner our respect for the deceased as well as our irreparable loss, therefore,

Resolved, That we have heard with sentiments of profound sorrow of the death of A. D. Sefton. During the past three years he has been a member of the Crescent Literary Society, and we do here bear willing testimony to his honesty, ability, and faithful manner in which he has at all times and in all places discharged his duties; and knowning his many excellencies of both mind and heart, we will ever hold him in grateful rememberance as a faithful worker and Christian gentleman, and we join with our fellow-members who knew him well, in this humble tribute to his memory.

Resolved, That a coy of these resolutions be presented to the bereved family, be kept upon the records of the Society, and be given for publication to the several newspapers of Porter and Decatur counties.
