Jerome B. Sargent

Crisman.
Died at his home in Crisman, Ind., on Oct. 11, Jerome B. Sargent, aged 74 years, 7 months and 14 days. His death, caused by a paralytic stroke, came as a sudden blow to the relatives and friends. The deceased was born in New Hampshire, Feb. 27, 1825, and came to Porter county 40 years ago. Here he enlisted with the 48th Indiana Infantry for the war of the rebellion, and served to its close. The funeral was held at McCool Saturday, conducted by Rev. Nickerson, of Porter. A wife, three sons and four daughters survive him. They have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.
