Mary Sanborn

OBITUARY.
SANBORN. -- After a long and painful illness, Mrs. Mary Sanborn, wife of Jeremiah Sanborn, deceased, and daughter of Stephen and E. S. Webster, departed this life March 22d, 1880, at Valparaiso, Ind., in the seventy-sixth year of her age.

Mrs. Sanborn was born in Hanover, New Hampshire, Nov. 12, 1804, but spent the greater part of her life in New York. On the 17th of October, 1825, she was united in marriage to Jeremiah Sanborn. For more than fifty years she has professed the Christian faith. During her long illness she had peace in believing in Jesus and trusting in the word of God. As her sufferings became intense, she said it was difficult to always feel reconciled, though she knew it was perfectly right and that her Heavenly Father did not willingly afflict. She was one of the kindest and best mothers, always striving to do something for the good of her children, of whom five survive her, three sons and two daughters. These, while mourning her departure rejoice that to her death has been unspeakable gain. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Thursday March 24th, at 2 P. M.
