DEATH OF PORTER COUNTY LAND OWNER RECORDED
(From Thursday's Daily)

For the first time since J. W. McNay has been in the recorder's office, a death was recorded there today. Seldom is such a record made. Sons of Mary C. Rushmore, 80 years old, who died over a year ago in Chicago, sent data here for the purpose. Mrs. Rushmore owned 124 acres of sand dune land in Portage township, now valued at $500 to $2,000 an acre according to estimates, and three big sand companies are now fighting over the rights to it in the circuit court.
