Andrew Barrett Price

OBITUARY.

Andrew Barrett Price was born on Sept. 24, 1807, in Centerville, Montgomery Co., Ohio, where he resided until June, 1843, when he removed to Indiana, arriving at Boone Grove, Porter county, in the middle of July, where he has resided ever since -- 35 years. He died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 1878, aged 71 years and 3 months.

He was married to Abigail B. Mann Dec. 30th 1830, who departed this life Sept. 1847, leaving six children, of whom 5 survive. He was again married Oct. 15, 1848, to Louise Dye, having by the last married 7 children, of whom 5 are living. He commenced the practice of medicine in 1831 and had been in the active service of his profession until the day he was confined to his bed with inflamation of the lungs, which terminated in his death.

He had been an active member of the Baptist church since 1838, having publicly professed Jesus and was buried in his likeness to walk anew in life. His last hours were spent in the firm belief of a happy eternity of which he had every assurance.

His funeral sermon was preached in the M. E. church at Hebron, Dec. 29, by his pastor, Rev. E. S. Riley, assisted by Rev. S. S. Buckles, pastor of that church, and Rev. Mr. Baker, pastor of the Presbyterian church. A large congregation of friends and citizens were present.
