DEATHS
AUGUST PILLMAN.
August Pillman died at his home in Porter, Sunday Jan. 22, at 6:30 a. m., aged 44 years and 6 months. He had been in poor health for some time, but last Wednesday he was taken down with the grip and brought a complication of diseases which caused his death Sunday morning. Mr. Pillman was born in Sweden in 1855, and came to this country with his parents when he was ten years old, settling in Liberty township, where he lived until 1882, when he moved to Porter and went into the general merchandise business. He continued in business until last December, when, on account of failing health, he sold out his business to C. E. Jacobson. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baillytown church and were conducted by Rev. Holmgrain, assisted by Dr. Theorell, and was attended by a large circle of relatives and friends. Mr. Pillman was a member of Court Chesterton No. 12, I. O. F. of A., and carried a $1,000 life insurance policy in that order. The members of the lodge attended the funeral in body. The deceased leaves a wife and five children, three daughter and two sons, to mourn the loss of a husband and father.
