Melissa Pierce

DIED,
In Fountain county, this state, on the 24th of December, last, of Consumption, Miss MELISSA, eldest daughter of Mrs. Widow Pierce, of Washington township, this county. Miss MELISSA went several months ago to Fountain county to visit and make a temporary stay with some relatives and friends. She enjoyed tolerable health until a few weeks before her death.

She remained sensible to the end. -- In her last moments she requested her present to inform her mother and other absent friends that she was resigned to death, even away from home, -- that she was going to happiness, and had no fears, having for several months been preparing her mind for the even of death. What a happy thing it is for the dying to be able to give such consolation to the friends they leave behind!
