Lamiel J. Parker

South Liberty Items.
Lamiel J. Parker, Esq., of Center, Liberty, died last Thursday morning, after a very short confinement. He had been ailing for several weeks but was bed-fast about one day, only. The funeral services were conducted Friday at the Methodist church in Chesterton, by the Rev. ______, formerly pastor there. Mr. Parker came to Indiana about 1864, from Michigan, being a native of New York. He was 67 years of age. He leaves a wife and daughter - Mrs. Oscar Rowley, of Flint Lake - to mourn their loss, besides numerous other relatives and friends. The disease was typhoid fever, superinduced, probably, by consumptiveness.

[Note: The given name of Lamiel J. Parker is incorrect in this newspaper item; this individual's name was Samuel J. Parker.]
