R. C. Odell

CHESTERTON CHIPS
Died on Tuesday, Dec. 6, R. C. Odell, at his home 3634 South Robey Street, Chicago, of heart failure, aged 62 years, 8 months and four days. The remains were brought to Chesterton Thursday evening, Dec. 8, and the funeral held on Friday, with interment at the Chesterton cemetry.

Deceased was a brother of Mrs. Chas. O. Seamons of this township and was well known here. His death was very sudden. Just before his death he was in the best of spirits, and apparently in the best of health. He was with his family entertaining company and laughing heartily over the efforts of his son trying to imitate a cake walk exhibition. His little house dog was jumping around and accidently fell against Mr. Odell, striking him in the breast. With a laugh on his lips Mr. Odell sank back and expired. The change from comedy to tragedy was a terrible one to the stricken family. He leaves a family consisting of a wife and three children to mourn his loss.
