E. H. Noyes

NEWS OF THE WEEK.
A peculiar accident occurred at Coberg, this county, on Wednesday of last week. The agent, E. H. Noyes, while flagging a passenger train on the B. & O., stood on the track, looking directly at the approaching engine until it struck him down. He was thrown some distance, and died the following day. Noyes was an old railroad man, and the manner of his death is strange. It is beyond doubt that he did not stay on the track intentionally, and it must be that he absent-mindedly thought he was standing on a side-track instead of the main track.
