Thomas Murphy

Coroner's Inquest Report.
The State of Indiana, Porter County:

I, W. C. Paramore, Coroner in and for said county, do hereby certify that an inquest was held by me on the 30th day of March, 1875, at the residence of Thomas Murphy, in the city of Valparaiso, in Center township, of said county, over the dead body of said Thomas Murphy, supposed to have come to his death by a pistol shot inflicted by his own hand; that the true name of said person is Thomas Murphy; that at the time of his death he was about 44 years old, dressed in light common clothes; that he was of light complexion, light made, and about 5 feet 8 inches high; that no valuables were found upon his person; and that the jury empanelled having found the following verdict, his body was left in charge of his family for burial:

VERDICT

We, the undersigned, jurors empannelled and sworn on the 30th day of March, in the year 1875, in the township of Center, in the county of Porter, by W. C. Paramore, Coroner of said county, to inquire and true presentment make in what manner and by whom Thomas Murphy, whose body was found at his residence in the city of Valparaiso on the 30th of March, 1875, came to his death after having heard the evidence and examined the body, do find that the deceased came to his death by a pistol shot inflicted by his own hand.
