Sallie Merrill

HEBRON, Ind. -- Died at her home near Gates' corners, Oct. 28, Mrs. Sallie Merrill, of catarrah of the stomach. She was born in Rush county, Indiana, May 12, 1850, and was married to John Merrill in 1878. She leaves a husband, three children, and two brothers to mourn her death. She united with the church at Gates' corners a number of years ago, and was still a member at her death, but she has gone to that home not made with hands eternal in the heavens. She was a loving and affectionate mother, a dutiful daughter, and a christian in every sense of the word. Her remains were brought here for interment, and the funeral services were held at the Christian church at this place Friday, October 30. The sermon was preached by the Rev. Findley. By the number of those who attended the funeral we might judge that her friends were numerous and came to pay their respects to her remains. Mrs. Merrill was a sister of our townsman, W. M. Nelson.
