Adaline McMathan

TALK OF THE TOWN
Mrs. Adaline McMathan, of Jackson township, died from strychine poisoning, self-administered, last Monday afternoon. It appears that she had been taking care of her mother, who has been quite sick, and on Monday about two o'clock, had received word to come to her mother at once. Just before starting she took what she supposed was a dose of quinine to ease a headache. Before she had gone far she was taken deathly sick and was carried into the house of Mr. Reynolds, and in a short time expired. Mrs. McMathan was the wife of Mat McMathan, and a woman 54 years old. She has four children, and for some time has been separated from her husband by mutual consent. Coroner Coates held an inquest, but could find no testimony that would justify thinking the woman committed suicide.
