Armar McFarland

THE COUNTY.
HEBRON.
Died, at his residence at Hickory Point, on august 30th, 1882, of congestion of the lungs, Armar McFarland, aged 41 years, 3 months and 13 days. His father came to Hickory Point in 1846, when he was only 5 years of age. His life has been spent in the neighborhood, and he had become one of the prominent men in the community, having by industry and economy accumulated a good property. He leaves his wife and six children financially in easy circumstances. He has for several years taken a very lively interest in the argricultural societies of Lake and Porter counties, doing all in his power to make the county fairs a success, and his loss in that respect will be felt in both counties. He was a good neighbor, kind husband and father, and was respected as a good citisen by all who knew him. The funeral services took place at Salem with appropriate religious service, conducted by Father Baker, of Hebron.
