Resolutions of Respect.

At a regular conclave of Valparaiso Commandery No. 28 Knights Templars, held January 9, 1879, the following preamble and resolutions were adopted:

WHEREAS, It has pleased the Great Architect to remove from our midst our esteemed Companion and Brother Sir Knight Charles McCloskey, and

WHEREAS, It is fitting and just that a suitable recognition of his Masonic virtues should be had, therefore it is

Resolved, By this Commandery of Knights Templars, that while we humbly submit to the will of the Most High, we do not less deplore the loss of our Worthy Brother.

Resolved, That in his death our Order laments the loss of one who was ever ready to proffer the hand of assistance to the needy and distressed and the voice of sympathy and encouragement to the afflicted and suffering of our fraternity, an active and energetic member who devotedly exerted the influence for the prosperity of our society, a friend and companion beloved by us all, courteous and valiant in the discharge of every duty.

Resolved, That we extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy and condolence.

Resolved, That these resolutions be spread upon the records of the Commandery and a copy of the same be transmitted to the family of the deceased, and to each of the newspapers of our city.
