Martha E. Marcue

What Hebron People are Doing.
DIED. -- Martha E. Marcue, nee Morris, daughter of O. M. Morris, at her home in Plymouth county, Iowa, July 28th, 1890. Mattie, as she was better known was born in Lake county, Ind., August 8, 1864, and was married to Charles Marcue in the state of Iowa, May 10, 1888. She lived near the town of Demass until her death. She was naturally religious, having been trained to love the life of faith and prayer in her early childhood days. In 1884 Mattie joined the M. E. church in Hebron, and after her removal to Iowa, she threw her lot with the church of her choice, and did noble work in both church and sabbath school. So much was she engaged in the religious work that she caused to be organized a Sunday school three miles from town, where, at her country home she could help those to a better life who were unable to go so far to church. The work of such a worker will follow her, and God will care for the good seeds sown. Mattie leaves a husband, father and brother, sister and foster-mother to mourn her death. Her sun went down before the noon-time hour, but at even time it was light. By her own request the subject of this sketch was brought back and buried beside her mother at Orchard Grove, Lake county, Ind. The funeral sermon was preached in the M. E. church by the writer, Aug. 2, 1890.
