The following tribute of respect for Maud Magee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Magee, who died a short time ago, was sent to her mother by the school of which she was a member.
December 18, 1885.
MRS. MAGEE: -- "Dear friend as I have no opportunity to see you I write this to express a little of the deep and sincere sympathy I feel for you in your great bereavement. I know something how you must miss the dear girl all the time and in every place. I do not want to grieve you more but I cannot help referring to how I miss her. When I come to her name to be marked absent on the list it brings the tears, and when I pass the vacant desk it causes a pang for she was very near to my heart."
