Mabin

A MOTHER'S SAD DISCOVERY.
Mrs. Wm. Mabin Finds her three Months' Old Baby Dead in Bed.

Mrs. Wm. Mbain put her 3 months' old girl baby in bed in apparent good health Tuesday evening, and on account of the heat the child laid at the head of the bed and Mrs. Mabin laid down to rest across the foot. About 4 o'clock Wednesday morning she awoke and found the life-less body of her baby. Mrs. Mabin was overcome with grief and her cries aroused some of the neighbors, and a physician was immediately sent for, but it was too late, and before the doctor arrived the body of the child had commenced to turn black. The cause of death was heart failure, brought about by the excessive heat.

Mr. Mabin was not at home at the time and a messenger was immediately sent to inform him of his daughter's death, and he arrived home at noon.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Smith, of the Porter Congregational church officiating. The remains were buried in the Chesterton cemetery.
