Sarah H. MaCan

DIED.
Sarah H. McCan, daughter of Douglas H. Merrill, was born Sept. 1, 1801, in Warren county. Married to Jacob McCan, July 3, 1827, in Wayne co., Mo. Removed to Illinois in 1829, and died in Utica, Illinois, March 9, 1880.

We loved our mother. She is sleeping --
Earthly cares are hers no more;
Safe within the angels keeping
With our father, gone before.

Fare thee well, our dearest mother;
Now in death their rest is sweet;
Yet they live above in glory,
Where their joy is all complete.

Yes, they dwell amid the angels --
Crowns and harps of gold they bear --
Heaven's bliss is theirs forever,
Will their children meet them there?
