James Luther

DIED,
At his residence in Washington township, this county, on Thursday, the 30th ultimo, MR. JAMES LUTHER, in the 61st year of his age, after a painful illness of five days.

Mr. Luther had occupied his late residence almost eleven years; and having been one of the early settlers of the county, was generally known. He was an affectionate and provinent parent, an accomodating neighbor, an intelligent and respected citizen, and a prompt, upright and economical business man, and as such his loss is lamented by his family, neighbors and friends. He had suffered much, at times, for many years back, from a lameness and soreness in his left knee, an ailing which seemed at last to extend throught his system and cause his death. Although he was only rational for a few moments at the time during his sickness, he gave evidence of resignation to the course of Providence and manifested no terror at the prospect of death.
