Catherine Little

DEATHS
Mrs. Catherine Little died at her home in Chesterton, Monday, Feb. 15, at 11 a. m., after an illness of six weeks. She was born in Tipperary, Ireland, in 1832 and came to this country in 1848, making her home in Buffalo, N. Y. for some time. From there she went to Montreal, Canada, and after a short residence, there moved to this county and has resided here for over 40 years. She was married to Patrick O'Connor some time in the 50's. Of this marriage one child, Bridget, who joined the Sisters of Charity in 1885 and is now in the St. Joseph Orphan Asylum, Germantown, Pa. After the death of her husband Mrs. O'Connor married Benjamin Little. One son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Little, Robert, who has been home since his mother's illness. She was a good christian and a faithful wife and mother and was the last one of her generation. The funeral was conducted by Fr. Kroll in St. Patrick's church, Wednesday Feb. 17, at 9 a. m. The choir was assisted by Mr. John Gondring, of Columbus, Nebraska. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends. Among them from abroad were: Mrs. Jas. W. Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Jas Weitzel, Mrs. Wm. Curry and Mrs. Thomas O'Connor, of Chicago; Mrs. M. A. Johnson, of Whiting; Miss Maggie Kerr, of Laporte; Mr. Philip and Miss Anna O'Connor, of Millers.
