Ray Charles Lendberg

Obituary.
Ray Charles Lendberg, the only son of Alfred and Etta Lendberg, died at his home near Wheeler, Ind., July 28, 1899, about 7 o'clock p. m. He was born March 13, 1886, and was therefore 13 years, 2 months, and 15 days old. After a protracted illness, marked by much suffering, came the dissolution, and his spirit returned to God, who gave it.

He was a good boy, lovable and loving, and the grief of the bereaved parents is the grief of those who have lost all they had. A life thus darkened in the morning of youth calls forth our earnest sympathy. Although the sun of his life "went down while it was day," still it is rising in a brighter world.

"They well hath learned in hours of faith
The truth, to flesh and sense unknown,
That life is ever Lord of Death,
And love can never lose its own.
Yet they sorrow not as those who have no hope."

The funeral was held at the church in McCool, Rev. E. A. Layton, of the Christian church at Wheeler, officiating. The music was rendered by Misses Grace Harrison, Edith Sigler, Edna Sigler and Fleta Abbott, and Messrs. G. R. Harrison and D. B. Gott. After impressive services interment took place in the Robbins cemetery.
