George Lang
LOCAL.
George Lang was killed by "damps" while working in a well of Jacob May, near Lafayette, last Thursday, and the Journal says the coroner was sent for, but decided that no inquest need be held because the death was witnessed by so many persons. Now the law says nothing of the number who may witness, but requires an inquest over every person suffering death "by violence or casualty."
