Mrs. Ephraim Jardine

Fatal Accident.
Last Thursday morning Mrs. Ephraim Jardine, of Jackson township, was leading a young horse to water, when, in kicking and striking at flied he knocked down and trampled her after she fell. No person being near, she managed finally to crawl to the house and ring the dinner bell, which brought her two boys, one of whom was sent immediately for a doctor and the other for her husband, who was away threshing. When the doctor came he found her injury was mortal, and at 4 o'clock that afternoon her suffering ceased in death.

Mrs. Jardine was of German descent, and lived in Jackson township 20 years, and had helpted her husband to improve and enlarge their farm until it was one of the best in Porter county. She leaves a husband and six children as her mourners, who have the heart-felt sympathy of many friends in their hours of trouble.
