W. F. SPOONER HEAR OF DEATH OF OLD FRIEND

Ex-Mayor W. F. Spooner received word this morning that one of his old teachers, Mrs. Augusta Howard, who instructed him sixty years ago, had just passed away in Massachusetts. During all of the intervening time Mr. Spooner has carried on a correspondence with her, and each Christmas remembered her with a gift. In his visits to the old home he never neglected to call on her. Mrs. Howard was 79 years old and leaves a daughter.
