Reuben Hill

A Whole Family Exterminated.
A terrible accident occurred Tuesday afternoon at a crossing on the Grand Trunk road near Mill Creek, LaPorte county, in which Reuben Hill and his two sons and two daughters were almost instantly killed by being struck by a west-bound passenger trains as they were driving across the track. A siding filled with freight cars prevented them from seeing the train until it was too late to escape. Hill was a farmer, about 50 years old, and lived near North Liberty, St. Joe county. The young people killed ranged in age from 6 to 18 years. Hill's wife died a few months ago, and no member of the family remains.
