Charles H. Harris

Report of Coroner's Inquest.
STATE OF INDIANA,
Porter County. } SS:

Be it remembered that on the 12th day of January, 1881, information was given to me that the dead body of a man lay in Center township, in said State and county, supposed to have come to his death by violence or casualty, and to ascertain so far as possible the cause and circumstances of said death, witnesses were called and sworn, and their material evidence reduced to writing, signed by myself, and filed in the Clerk's office of said county. Whereupon, I find decedent's name was Chas. H. Harris, that he was 23 years old, of light complexion, 5 feet 10 inches high and dressed in dark clothes and that he came to his death by being struck by the 5:15 a. m., west-bound passenger train. The railroad company is free from all blame in the case. His person was committed to the charge of Undertaker Noel, for burial.
WM. C. PARAMORE,
Coroner of Porter Co.
