Henry Hackett

Burdick.
Henry Hackett, an old resident of this place, died instantly while sitting in his chair at his home last Friday afternoon. He had been a great sufferer of asthma and heart failure, and it is thought the latter was the cause of his sudden death. He was 67 years of age and leaves a wife and daughter and many relatives to mourn his loss, and was also a civil war veteran, having seen considerable service. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at the Burdick M. E. church, Rev. Detch officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Chesterton cemetery. The family have the sympathy of the whole community.

"Soldier rest! thy warfare o'er,
Sleep the sleep that knows not breaking;
Dream of battlefields no more.
Days of danger, nights of waking."
