Cynthia Haberle

OBITUARY.
From the Valparaiso Herald.]
HABERLE. -- Of consumption, at her parents' residence in Valparaiso, on Friday, 23d inst., Miss Cynthia, the beloved daughter of Joseph and Cynthia Haberle.

On last Friday the bell tolled and we knew from its sad and solemn tones that one more soul had departed this life and gone to its Creator. It was not difficult to surmise who was dead, as we had been informed of the precarious condition of the deceased, and we knew it was only a matter of time before we would be obliged to chronicle the sad and mournful news. Let death come in what form it may, still it is sad, but it is natural for the old and not at all out of the order of things for the young to die, and we are not surprised by either case, but for a young person blooming into the age of womanhood and full of hopers and expectations of this life, to be snatched away from us, is something at once sorrowful and heart-rending. The deceased was a young lady of excellent qualities and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her disposition was retiring and tended to make all in her large circle of acquaintances love and respect her. Up to a few moments vefore her death she had entertained sanguine hopes of her recovery, and had arranged many plans to be executed when well. But neither was she unmindful of her probable death as she had frequently, previous to the sad event, received the consolations of her religion.

Deceased was aged 22 years, 8 months, and 10 days. The funeral services were conducted in St. Paul's church by Rev. M. O'Reilly, who celebrated High Mass and preached an eloquent and most touching sermon. Her remains, attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives, were carried to the Catholic cemetery, where, amidst many sad tears, they were interred. The bereaved family have the sympathy of many friends.
