CHESTERTON CHIPS
The remains of Mrs. Mary O'Connor were brought to Chesterton Thursday noon from Chicago for interment, and the funeral party which accompanied them were met by a large number of friends and relatives from this place. The casket was taken directly to the Catholic cemetery and the body laid to rest beside that of her husband, who had preceeded her 21 years ago. Mrs. O'Connor died at her home 5632 Armour avenue, Chicago, Tuesday, April 25, after a painful illness of several months of cancer of the stomach. The funeral services were held in St. Ann's church, Chicago, Thursday morning. Deceased was born in Ireland, and came to America, locating in Chesterton in 1851. Her maiden name was Mary Foley. She lived here or on a farm in the vicinity with her husband James O'Connor, until his death in 1879, when she moved with her family to Chicago, which has since been her home. She leaves a family consisting of one son and three daughters, all married. The pall-bearers at the funeral were James Morony, John Connell, Mike O'Connor, John Kalleny, Wm. Hartnett and John Fallahee. Forty three persons came out from Chicago, nearly all being ex-residents of Chesterton.
