Eliza Flake

OBITUARY.
Mrs. Eliza Burkhardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Flake, was born at Stevensville, Canada, Aug. 20th, 1857. At the age of 8 years she moved with her parents to this state, where she resided till about 2 years ago, when she moved to Chicago. She was married to Michael Burkhardt Oct. 23d, 1878, and has since become the mother of three children, one of which died last July. As her health was very poor and not improving, she was brought to her home in Valparaiso, where she died Wednesday morning, Sept. 12th, 1883, after an illness of about a year. She told her friends she was willing to die, her pains being too severe for her to bear. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church Friday at 1 o'clock p. m. by Rev. Mr. Herr, of Osborne, Ohio, who delivered a very able and acceptable discourse. Mr. Flake's family wish to express their thanks to all friends for assistance and sympathy in this affliction.
