Amy Ennis

Lines in Memory of Mrs. Amy Ennis.
BY HER SISTER ANNA FAIRCHILD

A joyous, happy home was ours,
Ere death his footprints left,
But now we mingle sighs and tears,
Of Sister Amy's death.

Her voice in melody did flow,
Her eyes with lustre shone,
Her heart with love was all aglow,
We claimed her all our own.

We now confess God's higher claim,
As in creation shown,
And in redemption just the same,
And yield to him his own.

Good bye, dear sister, for a time,
Till God shall call us out,
And then in joy far more sublime,
Our union we'll renew.
