P. A. Engberg

PORTER POINTERS
P. A. Engberg, a well known resident of Old Porter, died at his home Tuesday morning aged 67 years. Mr. Engberg came here about fifty years ago, in 1850 he went to California, where he remained about four years and then he returned and has since resided here. Mr. Engberg was educated as a civil engineer and was a man of considerable ability and his opinions were much sought for by his neighbors and acquaintances. Mr. Engberg was well known in this part of this county and was a successful farmer. The cause of death was the grip. He leaves a wife and four grown children, two sons and two daughters, and a large circle of friends to mourn his death. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Swedish Lutheran church, the services being conducted by Rev. Dr. Theorell and was very largely attended.
