Sarah Abigail Curtis

DIED -- In this place, Jan. 14th SARAH ABIGAIL, daughter of JONATHON and ORTENTIA CURTIS, aged 9 months and 16 days.

A sweet, blooming cherub is gone
To her home in yonder blue skies;
While her body lies in the dark tomb
Her soul to its maker will rise.

And there 'mid the heavenly throng,
Where sickness and grief never come,
She joins with the angels in song,
While her parents are left to mourn.

Sweet Sarah! so loving and loved,
A smile ever played on thy face,
Which the spirit of everyone moved,
And not even death could erase.

Ah truly her parents must weep,
For what can their sorrows bequile?
One comfort -- one tho't they may keep --
That soon they shall follow their child.
