NEWS OF THE WEEK.
Jerome Carter, one of Porter County's most widely known citizens, died at his home in Valparaiso last Wednesday morning, Dec. 24th, of pneumonia. The deceased was taken down only two days before his death and so swift did the disease do its work that but few were prepared for the sad news. The funeral was held on Friday in Valparaiso and was largely attended. In the demise of Jerome Carter, Porter county loses an enterprising citizen and a public-spirited man. His family have the heart-felt sympathy of many friends.
